The right to or not to do what you want with your body is a debate that heats the spirits and creates dissension. Indeed, if for some, the Man and the woman in particular is free to terminate a pregnancy because it is her body, others on the other hand consider abortion as a crime.
In Cameroon, perpetrators of abortions ongoing criminal penalties ranging from 15 days to 5 years in prison depending on the case. To this should also be added almonds ranging from 5000F CFA to 2,000,000F CFA. However, Law No. 2016/007 of the Penal Code in its article 339 provides for exceptional cases where abortion would not constitute an offence. These include cases where the life of the mother is in danger, and cases of rape, including incestuous.
Irresponsibility and lack of maturity
Those who choose to terminate a pregnancy generally in Cameroon belong mainly to a young population. Irresponsibility as well as lack of maturity is one of the main reasons that motivate these reprehensible acts generally practiced in the shelter of an obscurantism that leaves indifferent those we prefer to call: the one-night children of God. The role of public authorities and civil society is therefore essential. Indeed, if the State provides for criminal and pecuniary sanctions, it is in order to dissuade those perpetrators from persevering in this way. He (the State) must therefore always be followed in its approach by civil society, parents and other educators because being a parent or educator also means helping the youngest to endure or positively go through the trials of life despite the fact that the consequence of their choice is detestable. Unfortunately, some parents or educators are equally irresponsible and show a lack of glaring immaturity. They always know at least one nurse or doctor who performs abortions on the sly. A choice always has its positive or negative consequences. Given the sacredness of life and the impossibility for a human being to provide the breath of life, those who do not feel ready to take care of a child should ask for assistance or entrust this responsibility to one or more people better able to meet this requirement.
