For those who have hope, there will be peace, success, and prosperity. Image: Engin_Akyurt/Pixabay

The answers to this question, which vary according to individuals, are not limited to highlighting the experiences of others, but also that of those who give their point of view to show that a life of faith always results in life testimonies, which allow those mainly concerned to better know the One in whom they have chosen to trust.

If some respond by saying that it is because He is God, others will say that it is because He has done wonders in their lives. Two different answers which in fact are not because in fact, they are two parts of the same whole. These are two complementary reactions which clearly reflect the fact that God is not disconnected from the daily life of Men. If in fact we believe in the existence of a supreme being, it is because this transcendent being gives us daily reasons to believe in Him, in order to establish and deepen a daily personal relationship with Him who is God, but who for Christians in particular, has also experienced suffering and death on earth. A reformulation of this initial question would be the following: if God never fails, will I never fail?

For those who believe that God exists, and who believe in Him, the answer is clear: they will never fail. Why? Because they say, they are children of God. But these faith declarations should not be taken only literally. It is in the spiritual sense that we can truly understand what justifies such assertions. The reality of the failures we observe on a daily basis, do not only concern those who have not given their lives to God. Everyone fails without exception in one way or another. Failure is an existential reality in our societies. This is the reason why, having faith also implies the need to get up after each failure. Some will say, easier said than done; and it’s true! Hence the need to make the effort to get up as if everything depended on us, so that God Himself gives us more reasons to hope despite everything because, for those who have hope, there are always reasons to hope. Failures are realities of an existence which do not detract from the fact that those who call themselves children of God, are all called to succeed because as God Himself said, through the mouth of the prophet Jeremiah in chapter 29 of verses 11 to 13, “I alone know the plans I have for you, plans to bring you prosperity and not disaster, plans to bring about the future you hope for. Then you will call to me. You will come and pray to me, and I will answer you. You will seek me, and you will find me because you will seek me with all your heart. (Good News Bible with Deuterocanonical Books 2004)

This means that for those who have hope, there will be peace, success and prosperity. We simply have to put everything in God hands despite everything! Something that is not easy because, giving one's life to God is one thing, while remaining faithful to this love is another. Hence the importance of asking Him to help us in this project of fidelity that we have in common with Him because without Him, we can do nothing. Between distress and happiness, there is hope which begs God's mercy. If what is weak believes in what is strong, and accepts that the spirit of the one who is strong comes to dwell in him, he who is weak becomes strong himself, while retaining weaknesses which are part of his human nature, but do not predestine him to fail or to remain in the failures which represent nothing compared to the testimonies of life which glorify the name of God, while assuredly promising eternal life to all those who choose to configure themselves to Christ in particular through Baptism. To answer the question of why God never fails is also to believe in these words of the Apostle Saint Paul to the Romans in verse 5 of chapter 5: “hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out whitin our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us. (New American Standard Bible)

And this is where we find the spiritual dimension of the fact of saying that God never fails. The hope of the one who says it allows him to see beyond the failures, in order to radiantly contemplate the future through everything that we plan to do, or that is in the process of gestation. The most important thing is the future, in a serious present that takes into account the lessons of the past, while avoiding remaining a prisoner of this past. A future that has a past that is part of a story that is called to continue despite everything, as long as there is life. And this future is a prophecy brought to the attention of all those who choose to put their faith in God, or to become a Christian in particular. A prophecy which was fulfilled once and for all on a cross, and which is the basis of the Christian faith. If after being condemned, after suffering, after being crucified, and after losing his life, Christ conquered death three days later as recorded in the holy scriptures, this means that for all those who believe in Him, or put their faith in Him, there is something greater whatever the situation in which they find themselves.

The future of the children of God is not in the hands of Men, but in those of the children of God themselves, because they are in the hands of God. And when we are aware of being in the hands of God, this means that whatever the circumstances, God is God, and Men will always remain a creature, who will never have the last word. The apostle Saint Paul says in the 13th verse of the 4th chapter of his letter to the Philippines: “I have the strength to face all conditions by the power that Christ gives me. » (Good News Bible with Deuterocanonical Books 2004) In other words, I myself can do nothing; on the path of life, I will certainly succeed, but I will also fail because I am a Men; but since God's mercy is there to support me, and raise me up every time I fall, I am therefore called to always succeed because God is God, and He never fails.

Failure can therefore be a path that leads to success. it's not about being defeatist, but to fight for our successes despite everything, and let God Himself do the rest because life is not a journey during which Mens only give each other roses, but a journey during which we give blows each other, we protest and we contest when necessary and on the basis of the truth. A journey during which we are fought, and sometimes demoralized, but we still choose to continue the fight despite everything because it is not us, and even less the others, who will have the last word.

The one who has the last word will be God. If in fact everyone does what they have to do because they know that it is what they must do, God alone knows what is best for Men, and always makes it known to Men, not so that Men can boast of having done this or that, but to give all the glory to God because if Men can fail, God never fails. Our weaknesses must therefore be one of the things of which we must be most proud because, they are carried by the grace of a God who never fails, and who daily supports and strengthens his weak creatures who are absolutely nothing without Him.
