Christian hope for its part, is based on the victory of Christ on the cross. Image: Pixabay

Saint Paul tells us in the 18th verse of the 4th chapter of his epistle to the Romans that: “Abraham believed and hoped, even when there are no reasons for hoping and so became [the father of many nations] » (The Good News Bible with Deuterocanonical Books)

Common people often like to quote François Rabelais and Clément Marot when saying: “everything comes in time to him who knows how to wait”. But in the case of Abraham, it is an expectation that breaks the limits of the intelligible. Through him, we understand that there is a difference between what we wish for, and what God Himself has promised us. If what we wish for by waiting and being patient may not happen, what God Himself promises us in the intimacy of the relationship we have with Him, will always happen since, He Himself knows how to fulfil us beyond our expectations, by giving us a hope supported by faith in Him and Jesus in particular, and not the one spread all day long by Mens which can sometimes prove very disappointing.

If we ask the question: Why do you think life is beautiful? The answers will always be linked to life experiences which all revolve around lexical field of happiness because, the human being is by nature attracted to everything which contributes to well-being during an existence which also has difficult moments which however for those who have hope, are only passing episodes which will always end with moments of joy quite simply because there is no faith without the cross or better yet, no happiness without suffering, or without a faith which allows us to make efforts and fight good fights that is to say, what we consider to be right.

The considerations according to which those who have made the choice to give their lives to Jesus are not called to suffer are always based on a hope, just as those who do not believe in God always have something palpable on which they base themselves to do projections into the future. When you hear a Men of Faith or a Men of Church tell certain people that they are not called to suffer, you must always know on what hope he is basing himself to make such assertions. Christian hope for its part, is based on the victory of Christ on the cross for those who believe in it, or who want to believe in it. It is a hope that does not mean that there will not be difficult moments in life. It is a hope that takes this into account, to remind people that they are creatures on the path of a perfection which itself is made up of ups and downs because, life is a succession of pains and joys which will always lead to a succession of happiness for those who have hope. We must therefore not be satisfied with words which let us know that we are not destined to suffer, but with those which specify that we are destined to brave all forms of difficulties by faith. But talking about faith is not enough; we must still answer the question of knowing: in Who or in what? A question to which Christians in particular respond by saying: In Jesus, because they consider, or because they have the firm conviction that He conquered death.

Belonging to Christ means being free to make your choices

For all those who believe in God or not, there is no life without distressing situations, without difficult moments, without challenges, without pressures, without efforts, without constraints or quite simply without suffering. The alternation of joys and sorrows or vice versa, denotes the beauty of life in the sense that even if we are destined to succeed in the name of Jesus, this does not exempt us from the moments of distress which are part of a life that Jesus Himself lived because as the 23rd verse of the 26th chapter of the book of the acts of the apostles tells us, “the Messiah must suffer and be the first one to rise from the death, to announce the light of salvation to the Jews and the Gentiles. » (The Good News Bible With Deuterocanonical Books)

The universal call to become a child of God implies a constant sacrifice in the life of those who choose to become one. Anyone who adopts an x habit which accuses him, and choose to adopt a y one which give to him a new status, has the duty to work to extend the reign of the one who gave him the grace to become a new creation. This is precisely the reason why Saint Paul says: “it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me. This life that I live now, I live by the faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave his life for me. » (The Good News Bible With Deuterocanonical Books – Galatians 2, 20)

But that doesn’t mean we no longer have the freedom to make choices. One of the most beautiful gifts of salvation that God grants us in particular through Christ is that He makes us new creatures, formerly held captive by sin, but who today become new creatures in Him who have the freedom to make their own choices, not only to avoid falling into the same failings, but to further contribute to deepening their faith in Him on a daily basis through each of their actions. In other words, those who have been saved by faith, must perform actions that contribute to extending God’s reign of love on earth. This is one of the reasons why Saint James says in the 18th verse of his 2nd chapter this: “show me your faith without the works, and I will show you my faith by my works.” (New American Standard Bible 1995).

Proving one's faith by works is simply doing well what one has to do, or what we have made the free choice to do. And the fact of doing well always stems from a desire to do well which always encourages us to do better while always having in mind that we can do nothing without Him who is the health of the sick, and the strength of the weak. We can do everything because God daily assists creatures who recognize their daily weaknesses, and place their lives in His hands so that thanks to the grace to do better which comes from Him, they continue to do well what they have to do, in order not to become servants of insidious tendencies which also seek a goal which is always contrary to that which those who want to act in righteousness seek, namely: led men to remain in fear, distress and hatred, while salvation that God acquired us through His son, destines us to be victorious in all trials.

This means that He who is at the heart of the lives of those who count on Him, knows that there is suffering on earth, having Himself experienced the difficulties of life. What could be better than the One who is the very source of hope to always help people to hope despite everything? He who trusts in God can always be able to do everything, because God is with him. God is the hope of all those who want or choose to accomplish everything they want with Him. He will not act for us, but His grace will help us accomplish what we are determined to obtain or accomplish, if and only if that is what we want. And in this case or these multiple cases, there will always be a suffering which is assimilated to a daily effort to be made which includes the necessity of daily begging for mercy from the One who assists us in everything we do, and who makes us children of hope in all the circumstances of life so that we strengthen the hope and even the faith of others through our own experiences, which certainly will not always be able to help everyone, but will always be useful in a world where there are always needs.
