Men's ability to provide practical solutions to the multiple problems of existence is the fruit of an ingenuity which has always enabled him to establish the bases for a series of future experiments, updated in order to respond more favourably to the new challenges for science in a consumer society that is very demanding with regard to the satisfaction of its carnal appetites.

Based on the results of convincing scientific research, humanity has been informed about the existence of sexually transmitted diseases and infections which continue to be the subject of additional research in order to better cure those that are curable, and better prevent those who have a very high prevalence rate by promoting adequate contraceptive methods.

In the 16th century AD, condoms made of linen and reusable were already used to protect against an infection which would come from the Americas (North, South and Central America) and which would have transited to Europe because of explorers; first in Italy, then in France and in other countries of the European continent, during and after the Italian War (1494 – 1559). A sexually transmitted infection called syphilis the bacteria responsible namely the Treponema pallidum, was first identified in 1905 and 1910 in greater detail, respectively.

The reusable condom of the 16th century and made of linen gave way in the 19th century to rubber condom. A raw material whose constant improvement in flexibility continues to favour the manufacturing of innovative condoms.

The 21st century is that of all genders (men and women), and of all colours. There are some that glow in the dark; some are scented, and others are even electronic. Men’s ingenuity has not yet ceased to amaze us.

The popularization of this contraceptive method has always followed a political desire to limit unwanted births, reduce the prevalence rate of sexually transmitted diseases and infections, and implicitly encourage Men and young people in particular to responsible debauchery. A political strategy which certainly contrasts with religious points of view, but which has nevertheless managed to establish itself on the international scene as an effective means of curbing the prevalence rate of sexually transmitted diseases and infections within a young population increasingly sexually active. A satisfactory consumer market for the sex industry and which justifies in particular the manufacture of increasingly attractive condoms, advertising campaigns encouraging debauchery, and awareness campaigns against STDs and STIs during the holidays in order to sneakily inciting fornication while being responsible.

The condom dictates its law and continues to impose itself in the world and in Africa as an essential means not to prevent young people from having fun, but to protect themselves because, that is when we fall less and less sick that the State saves money. The male condom in particular is the second most used method of contraception in the world after female sterilization, and before the Intrauterine device and the pill (source: United Nations, Contraceptive Use by Method 2020). It (the female or male condom) has become essential in the prevention of STDs and STIs which are particularly prevalent among young people. Its effectiveness is optimized through constant promotion, availability nearby, at an affordable price, and even free of charge for young people aged between 18 and 25 in pharmaceutical establishments.

The condom is the best-suited pretext to justify the right to sexual activity that is both disproportionate and responsible. 856 condoms are produced and sold worldwide every second (planetoscope.com). The ingenuity of manufacturers plays on the psychology of a consumer who likes to put into practice new creations sold in particular through encouraging and sometimes confusing advertising pages. This growing production and sale is a threat to the choice of abstinence which does not benefit from the same media favours. Hence the urgency of additional efforts on the part of parents, civil society and other educators, in order to further highlight an option that those in power will always respect but which they will never consider as a better solution but a method effective among many others in limiting the prevalence rate of STDs and STIs in Africa and around the world.
