The process of decolonization of African Territories is bearing more and more fruit. If in the past freedom was constrained or subjugated by external forces who manipulated it as they pleased by defining the conditions for its exercise, the multiplication of coups d'état in certain African territories is concrete proof of the consciousness of a power which truly belongs to the people, and which they can afford to give to whomever they wish not only in democratic conditions, but also in particular circumstances which can justify the use of force to break with a philosophy which does not has no positive impact on the daily lives of populations.
But if we must rejoice, we must not rejoice very quickly! Indeed, what wouldn’t Man do to achieve his goals? If the great feats achieved in all areas show us that he is capable of everything, armed conflicts, wars, as well as the refrains of hypocrisy in inter-human relations do not say the opposite. Man is capable of anything and this is precisely the reason why his theoretical and practical knowledge always encourages him to undertake greater things, useful or not for the environment in which he lives.
If nothing justifies the use of arms, and if certain circumstances can justify a military option which arises from the true aspirations of the people or of a part of the people in a military majority perhaps because the other part continually lives in fear of To be repressed, the reality that we experience on a daily basis also teaches us that a disproportionate desire, or one motivated by selfish ambitions, can very quickly transform into an insatiable, destructive greed beyond the understanding of ordinary mortals.
When it is the interests of the people or the entire nation that are put forward, there is something to be proud of. But if, on the other hand, it is opportunistic desires that sneak into the masses, in order to take advantage of the true aspirations of the people or a part of the people to achieve scabrous objectives, there is reason to worry.

Men sneakily encourage armed conflicts because they benefit from it. Wars are fuelled by the arms industry. The right that certain States have to order others not to use weapons that have been given to them or sold in specific areas will not change anything. Men's good will, will always find itself obliged to retaliate against its own expansionist obsession.
Behind good intentions there can be excessive ambitions capable of plunging the Territory into chaos. If a military coup is completed and controlled, that is to say, if it is made official, assumed and accompanied by measures aimed at not causing the country to sink into distress, there is reason hope for a bright future despite the pressures. But if it is motivated by selfish impulses, it can only create an atmosphere favourable to a succession of similar insecurity, detrimental to the development of the country.
The process of decolonization of Africa, which results in the progressive dismantling of neo-colonialist barriers, has made the African continent a poor student in terms of compliance with international standards. Of the more than 486 coup attempts around the world between 1950 and 2020, 214 of which 106 succeeded and 108 failed took place on the African continent (source: voanews.com). And the list is not exhaustive; Coups d’état in Africa have the appearance of a single file. Between 2021 and 2023 there have been seven military coups simultaneously. The moment when they will no longer be the preferred solution to provide real solutions to the real concerns of populations is eagerly awaited. These figures sufficiently demonstrate that African democracies, particularly sub-Saharan democracies, are still very fragile. The institutions are weak with leaders who have allowed themselves to be lulled into an exasperating conservation of power characterized by the muzzling of a people whose salvation depends solely on military initiatives which will only be beneficial when they are able to put in place favourable conditions for real development and a real decentralized democratic process.
