Meditation

Pourquoi l'homme devrait-il d'abord se demander des comptes à lui-même?

We are used to hearing words such as: I believe in God, I am a child of God..., without however perceiving works that go in the same dynamic as what is proclaimed. Isn't the fact of calling oneself a child of God or of presenting oneself as a Men of Faith also a pretext for escaping our responsibilities, putting God to the test or subjecting Him to blackmail which sometimes reflects an interested faith or built on sand?

Experience has shown that when somebody goes from one Church to another or from one religion to another, it is generally to find there a solution to a problem that he could not find elsewhere. This approach that some qualify as being the fruit of a lack of faith or a lack of firmness is it not the sign that the solution to the problem of Men is found in His continual walk with God?

Faith: a free gift from God

It is God who calls to follow him. No Men makes the choice to follow God or to act in the name of God by himself. Whoever wants for example to welcome Christ into his life has already been preceded by the call of the Holy Spirit of God. The call is a free gift that will give eternal life to those who will done make the free choice to follow Christ and act freely in His name through acts of light so that other people can also enjoy the same divine goodness. God calls whoever He wants for free. The one who says yes to God and without restraint automatically configures itself to a life project. The free gift of faith comes from the love that God has for each Men and it is this love of God for men that leads Men to show charity wherever He finds himself. If we can afford to expect more blessings from the one in whom we have put our trust, He also expects us to be ambassadors of His love in the world by preaching acts that glorify Him and predispose us to receive more graces from Him.

What God expects of those who choose to follow him

“Prove yourself worthy of the calling you have received.” This call from the apostle Saint Paul to the Ephesians is still relevant today. God's children do not always behave as they should. Acts of faith are sometimes facade professions. Practical life remains at odds with a theoretical life often brandished as a propaganda tool for pointless boasting. If God loved us first and freely, our life must be a gift to others. This does not mean that we should not or no longer seek God, or a solution to our problems elsewhere. Our quest for God should help us to better know this God who also manifests himself in weakness. Choosing to accept Jesus in our life is responding favourably to His desire to help us face the difficulties of everyday life so that through our multiple trials we establish a personal relationship with Him which allows us to have reasons to persevere in our faith despite everything. By inviting God into our lives, we give Him the opportunity to give us reasons to continue to trust in Him. God and Christ in particular expect that those who have made the choice to follow Him will always have recourse to Him in all circumstances of life. It is not a question of saying that God is stronger here than there, even less that he manifests himself more here than there. It is about building one's personal relationship with God on an indestructible foundation free from all forms of bad habits which prevent Men from remaining firm in His faith or which leads Him to treat those who do not share the same faith as him condescendingly as if the only path to salvation is found in Christianity.

The children of God must behave like useless servants, that is to say, those who only seek the glory of God in everything they do while knowing that this same God will never abandon them despite everything.
