How to remain insensitive to the suffering of the other? Even if the fact of taking an act to show the eyes of the world our attachment to the most vulnerable layers of society can be questionable, the fact of really having at heart to contribute to the well-being of one's fellow human beings will always be an act of charity.

God does not look at the quantity or the quality of the gifts but the quantity of love and the quality of the heart that gives and that of the one who receives. Even if the person who gives a gift has a bad reputation, his act can be beneficial for him and the recipients of this gift, if he has taken the trouble to pray to God to accept this offering in reparation for his sins and those of others.

True charity: giving to God by giving to men

To make a gift pleasing to God does not automatically require us to be a member of a particular religion. Anyone can gladden the heart of God. It just have to be sincere with yourself and always know why and for whom you have chosen to do good. God does not just watch the act. He also looks at the heart. Suppose a person performs an act of charity in order to conceal his duplicity or wickedness. The person who accepted this gift out of love and despite all the bad things that are said about the person who gave him this gift will be blessed, but not in the same way as the person who gave it. In either case there is no curse. Both are blessed in proportions that vary according to the quality of the relationship that each has with God or the quality of the relationship that one person in particular between the two has with God.

Whoever receives a gift out of love for God will have even more reason to give thanks to God, while the donor despite his bad intentions, will have the grace of a call to conversion. God does not look at the heart of Men to accuse Men. He looks at the heart of Men to save Him. When Men's heart accuses Him after He has done wrong, it is always a call to improve or regularize His relationship with God. If God speaks a lot in public, He speaks even more to the heart of Men. Whoever wants to do an act of charity must know that it is not to men that he is doing it but to God.

The Compassion of God and that of Men

Men cannot be compassionate by Himself. It is God who initiates compassion and urges Men to action. We live in a wicked and compassionate world at the same time because God cannot allow human suffering to last forever. God's compassion always translates into concrete acts of love, made by Men who have a good relationship with Him. Doing good and not believing in God does not necessarily mean that you are bad. Is bad the one who has lost the sense of good and who encourages others to do like him. An unbeliever can decide to bring people out of their precariousness because he knows that he has the means to respond to the problems of society. What drives him to act like this? It is up to him to know what answer to give to this question. The believer, for his part, must always act in the name of a deity he knows personally. The universal language of love has no religion, language and even less race. The believer who knows that God is love can find the manifestations of this love in an unbeliever who himself can know what believers understand by God's compassion through their acts of charity. God's compassion manifests itself in many ways. The multiple facets of his manifestation sufficiently show that God does not discriminate between men. He is at the heart of everyone's life and always finds a way to allow everyone, whatever the situation in which they find themselves, to experience this compassion and to give thanks to God. As long as there will always be people who will choose to share the suffering of others by bringing them their assistance to the extent of the means at their disposal or that God has allowed them to have, men will always have reason to hope.
